Thoughts that probably only make sense to me :)

Apparently I'm really good at this whole two posts a month thing....ha ha ha. :)

Sigh.

Sorry, blog.

Something that has been ringing true in my life lately is the notion that everybody is different from....everybody else. :)

Well, duh.

Honestly though, I think people forget that and they expect that other people are going to appease them when in all reality everyone is so different it's hard to be appeased!

Appeased is a weird word.

I'm one of my only friends in all of my groups of friends that has a boyfriend. Jeff and I have two friends that are seriously dating, but preeeeetty much other than them....we are it.

Therefore, I have lots of girls and guys alike that come and talk to me about their problems! Ha ha. Even back in high school is seemed like I was the psychologist of my group of friends, and well, that hasn't really changed.

It's weird though, because I feel like since I'm dating Jeff people think I have more knowledge to share. I guess that's part of dating is trying to cultivate the relationship you have and if you're constantly doing that, then you'll understand things better.

At church today we had a 2 hour discussion with everyone in the ward about dating. Ha ha ha ha ha! It was really funny, but really really good at the same time. I commented a lot.....

I think the main reason I spoke up so much was because I knew that I didn't want to date any of the guys that were there cause....I'm dating Jeff....and so I just spoke honestly and openly about what I thought. I think that's harder for girls that are "on the market", as it were, because they are afraid they will appear un-marketable (?) if they say anything wrong? I actually had some guys come up to me after and thank me for all of the "mature" comments that I had made.

Let me just say this though....I don't think I'm mature. I honestly don't! Actually having a relationship is hard work and I mess up a lot! Granted, Jeff and I are really honest with each other so we are still together and in love, but really...it's hard work and most of the time it's hard being mature.

I think that's one of the fundamental things that single people don't understand - that having a relationship is hard. Everybody wants to be dating and everybody wants to be in love....which is awesome! But lots of young single adults don't realize that it takes effort and sacrifice.

I'm pretty sure that's why so many of my friends come to me and toil over their dating lives or their lack of dating lives, because they want it so bad that they don't realize all of the deeper meaning behind it all. (that maybe if they had said boyfriend or girlfriend they would have to face bigger challenges! :) )

There was a girl in my ward that was talking today about the different stages....the "good, better, best" parts of a relationship and she said you can equate "good, better, best" with "interest, attention, sacrifice". I think that's so true! So so so true.

Jeff sacrifices and does a lot for me and that's how I know that we have a good relationship. I guess I do stuff for him sometimes too, but he's much better than me! This is the part of my blog that I'll probably leave a lot out and hopefully write later for a much more private journal (ha ha ha ha), but really sacrifice is a huge part of a healthy relationship.

So yeah, that's just been on my mind lately because I've had lots of friends who are struggling with that, I suppose.

Everybody is different, but I guess in the end a lot of things about relationships has to be the same. People have to be willing to sacrifice to make things work....they have to be willing to be open and communicate! It's just interesting to think about. We had all of the people in our singles ward today discussing lots of different things and we are all SO different personality wise, but when we really started discussing the fundamental things about dating it was like we were all the same person/people.

I'm grateful for the Gospel and the people in it. It's truly a blessing to have so many people that believe in the same values as yourself.

I'm a very lucky girl. I have a wonderful boyfriend! I have lots of friends that go to far away universities that have been getting engaged recently and I often wonder how they can be so happy when they aren't with my boyfriend....? Is that selfish? No.....it's a reality! I really do wonder that!

The whole ranting about open communication and sacrifice thing that I just did is true, but for some reason it comes easily for Jeff and I. Ha ha ha! I probably just jinxed us. Yay....

Jeff really does make my life easier, though. He makes things happier and better and all around great! And that's kind of hard to do considering the fact that I'm a really optimistic person in the first place!

I really love life right now. Sometimes it's hard to be patient about the future, but all together life is moving along beautifully.

Well, my whole going to the temple twice a week thing has slowly been dying lately. It's kind of hit and miss. Hmmmm... yeah! I've been trying to go with Jeff as much as I can and then I'll try to go alone once a week still, but it's been a tad difficult! I truly do know that Satan doesn't want us at the temple because it seems like sometimes ridiculous things get in the way of me going.

I did go yesterday though and had a good experience. I really don't know where I would be without the temple. I wouldn't be as happy as I am. Truly. I definitely wouldn't have the testimony that I do without it!

My friends and I went to Vernal the other week and it was way fun! There were 9 of us that went and my sweet boyfriend drove the whole time! Geez....he must really like me or something. It was about 3 hours each way! It was fun just being with all of the people that came! It's comforting to know that I have friends that love the temple like I do and that want to go and participate in the wonderfulness! I really am grateful for good friends.

There was a sweet spirit at the Vernal Temple. I guess there is always a good spirit at all temples, but I guess just the way that we set up the day and had fun together and we were all there for the same purpose, it just left me with a wonderful spirit.

Now I just need to go to the Provo Temple and I'll have done baptisms in all the Utah temples. Crrrrrazy! Hopefully I'll do that before the end of the year.

I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for all of His children and He wants us to be happy. I know that He makes us be patient, because in the end the virtue of patience that we learn really does make us happier.

I'm grateful that I'm in the family that I'm in, that I was sent to be with them and be blessed by them. I'm grateful that my Father in Heaven has sent me people to be with now, like Jeff, that I can grow with and find true happiness with. This life is all about timing and I know that God times our lives in such a way that is perfect for us. We have our agency and we choose what path we are going to be on, but Heavenly Father throws in the blessings and trials needed for whatever path we choose to take.

‎"We all face dangers and hardships, but there will be angels round about you, to bear you up. They will sustain us as we carry our earthly burdens. Often in our lives, those angels are the people around us, the people who love us, those who allow themselves to be instruments in the Lord's hands."

Feed the Childrens

I have lots of things on my mind right now. The main thing I wanna talk about is my kids at school! But first there is a list of weirdness bouncing around my head....

It goes as follows....

-Facebook makes me want things that aren't really feasible right now. Ha ha ha! Yesterday I was reading different stories of friends that have recently gotten engaged and then there are always tons of pictures of engagements and weddings and AHHHHH....yesterday I really wanted to be engaged. Today I've ran across lots of friends that have little babies and tons of pictures of them. So today I want to be a mom. Like I said....not feasible right now!
-I go through weird periods of time where I really really really...really really want to be done with school. I'm experiencing a time like that right now. I'm on my 5th semester and eeeeeeee ahhhhh!! The end is nowhere in sight. Well....it's kind of in sight....but I'm standing on a cliff and the end is at the bottom of the canyon. Deep. Deep in ze canyon.
-I really need to clean my room...but every time I go in said room I fall asleep because I'm usually tired. And by usually I mean always. :)
-Sarah and I trying to be on a diet. Ha ha ha ha ha ha....trying is such a sad word. I've tried doing this before and it actually works! I just need to keep doing it. For more than a month. That would be good!
-I have about 5 missionaries that I owe letters to. Eeeeeek. Poor boys. I guess when you have a boyfriend you don't really...think about other boys? Nonetheless, I've owed these guys a letter for months now and I keep on not getting around to it. I feel slightly bad. I guess I only say slightly because they really should be writing their families and not me. All the same, missionaries love letters so I really need to do that soon! Before Christmas! Ha ha ha ha ha... that'll be my goal.

Anyways, on to the breadth of this post.

I'm a pretty analytical person...or I try to be! I loved taking psychology in high school and if my schedule would permit I'm sure I'd take it at the university. I guess the biggest thing I love about psychology is understanding how people think. Isn't that the basis of psychology? Yo supongo.

Nonetheless, I love observing my kids I teach at school! It's actually really fascinating.

I have no idea how many categories and subcategories I can divide these kids up into, so I'll just start talking about them.....

*disclaimer ---- I'm sorry if you think I'm generalizing and/or stereotyping too much. I honestly have no other way of saying this, ha ha!*

-Needy kids
Do you like how I put needy kids first? Ha ha ha! In a sense ALL kids are needy, but some more than others. Needy kids....sad to say....don't have a lot of friends. It's fairly obvious looking at a classroom of 25 or so kids, you can tell which kids have friends and which ones don't. Needy kids usually don't. For example I have this sweet sweet sweet boy in a 3rd grade class that always comes and talks to me during our work time. The whole class will be quietly (or not so quietly) working on their art and this little boy will come show me his picture and then proceed to tell me updates on his life. In a way, I don't mind this kind of needy kid because honestly....everybody needs to feel loved and if I can be his best friend, then I'll gladly do it. He tells me about different things he likes and he gets really excited about almost anything. I can tell though that he'd never dare talk to kids his own age about that stuff.
THEN....there is the needy kid that I usually have conversations like this with:

Child: "Miss Hunter....I!!"
Me: "Hold on."
Child: "I need to!"
Me: "Wait...."
Child: "But I!!"
Me: "Alright, yes?"
Child: "I don't have time....I don't think I have time to do....and I was wondering if I....I think I need to...."
Me: "Go put it in your backpack."
Child: "But I!"
Me: "Go sit down, please."
Child: "I....*walks away*"

That's always fun! Ha ha.

These are the kids that will probably end up getting married at an early age. Kids can be loners in elementary, but usually as they get older they find other people like them and latch on. Needy - latch on. It makes sense! Because they get married at a young age and they can inherently needy, these people probably will have a hard time choosing a career and life path because they always have had people do it for them!

-Know-it-all kids
These kids always want to run the class. I have a little 1st grade girl that will silence the already quiet class and demand that they be quiet so the class can earn a coin. (a coin is essentially a prize I can give to the classes if they are good) How I do it is I tell the kids if they can get 5 tally marks on the board then they will earn a coin. If they are being bad....then the tallies get erased. So the little 1st graders will be being quiet and this little girl will say "You guys! We have to be quiet! We need a tally!", then several of her classmates will mutter.... "You're the one that's being loud...." Ha ha ha!
There are other kinds of know-it-alls, in the common sense, where you'll have a kid that thinks raising his/her hand isn't in their rulebook. They know that everyone ELSE needs to raise their hand to speak....but if they know the answer....oh my goodness....they MUST tell me ASAP!
A couple of weeks ago I had a little 2nd grade girl that I had to call her out by name approximately every 10 seconds and tell her that she needed to basically sit down, shut up, and I wasn't going to call on her....EVER (I obviously didn't say it that way, ha ha), but for some reason that message didn't click in her head and she continued to shout out answers.
Kids like being know-it-alls usually, and unless they are really shy, almost all of them go through a know-it-all phase. It's basically the whole concept that people like to feel cool. Being cool gives people a rush and in elementary school there aren't many opportunities to get that rush, so being a know-it-all is the easiest way!
It's annoying for teachers though.
These kids usually like to tear down the quieter kids. I've seen it time and time again....a shy kid will say something that they think is right and a know-it-all kid will stare right at them and say "That's not how it is. It's like this...etc."
These kids will probably end up being leaders or really popular later in life. This world needs all kinds of people, so in lots of ways, I'm not trying to make these people seem horrible....they really aren't! Know-it-all kids are usually very determined and know exactly what they want which is an awesome quality to have later in life.

-Shy kids
I honest to goodness can say that I have the hardest time remembering shy kids' names. It's really easy to remember the names of kids that get in trouble all the time because you're constantly having to call them out. However, shy kids go unrecognized A LOT. Almost always shy kids are really the sweetest too. These are kids that without fail will always thank you...usually in a whisper...and are always excited to see you. For this reason, I have a lot of favorites that are really shy.
The majority of shy kids that I've seen usually have one or two best friends and they are really loyal to each other. As opposed to the more outgoing kids that have their little cliche that will probably only last a month. Shy kids stick together and form the healthiest relationships in my opinion.
These kids always have a hard time telling me what they want, which always makes me smile. I usually have to narrow it down in my brain...they either: want to go to the bathroom or get a drink, want to know if they are done with their picture, or want me to cut something out for them. Usually if they have scissors it's a dead give away so I'll just take the scissors and start cutting. Other than that it's pretty safe to just always answer "yes" to them when they walk up to me. Ha ha ha ha!
Love those kids.
Kids like that in my mind end up being the most stable. They probably get married and enter on the path of adulthood at a decent time and in a mature manner. Like I said, they end up having the healthiest relationships. They understand respect which I think is dwindling very very fast in the younger generations.

-Hyper kids
What can I honestly say about hyper kids, other than they are just really hyper? Ha ha! Hyper kids are borderline EVERY other category. They can be special needs, they can be cool, they can be know-it-alls. For example today I had a 2nd grade class and there is a little boy in that class......who was totally under control last year in 1st grade, but for some reason this year he's off the wall! There is never a time that he's not talking. He's always always talking. I've gotten into the habit of saying to the kids "Ok, no talking.....and if you're whispering that's not following the rules...because whispering is talking." Hyper kids will get so surprised when you say that. Whispering is talking??? But I'm not being loud!!
Hyper kids take the longest trying to understand what you're trying to convey to them. Usually I'll have to explain things to them multiple times. They THINK they run the class and will usually talk for others around them which always kind of makes me laugh, ha ha!
These are the kinds of people that end up not wanting to decide what to do with life. People that bum around for a couple of years after high school and just want to hang out all the time. Directionless people usually are fairly hyper!

-Special needs kids
I sincerely have a deep and unfailing love for special needs kids. I've worked with them a lot both in an actual special needs classroom setting and also during our art times and they are just fun! They usually make the biggest mistakes, but you don't really care because they have the sweetest little hearts that it doesn't matter. Depending on the severity of their handicaps they can usually be really loud. It's always really cute to me when I'll have a class with a little boy or girl who has down syndrome, because all of the other kids treat them really sweetly. I think little kids have a big sensitive side when it comes to people with disabilities. As we get older people start being more "afraid" of people like that, which is a shame and we treat them differently.
It's no wonder Christ has told us to be as the little children and love everyone. Kids really do know how to love everyone!
It always makes me sad to think about some of the futures of kids with disabilities. Depending on how high functioning they are they might not be able to go out into the world really.
If you've read some of my older posts you'll read the one about the two little kids at my school who were killed....that little boy had autism. I'm not trying to say it is BETTER that he died, but I think about his future and realize that he would have had a really hard life out in the real world. And I say that mostly because he didn't have good supportive parents. He was really high functioning and understood a lot of things, but I just know he would have had it hard.
I truly am grateful for special needs people though because they give us an opportunity to serve and to not judge and ultimately to try to be more like our Savior. Plus they just always make you smile so it's like you're the one receiving all the service!

-Cool kids
Last, but not least.......cool kids. Everybody respects cool kids. Even kids that don't want to respect the cool kids, still respect them for fear of the social derogation that might happen if they don't respect, ha ha. A lot of cool kids earn their coolness at recess! For example, if you have a boy that knows kind of how to "play" football, then he wins the cool award for the week/month/possibly even year and all the other little boys respect him. I say "play", because I really don't think any 3rd grade boy TRULY knows how to play football, ha ha.
I've had 2nd and 3rd grade classes come in from recess and the cool kid will walk in and his friends or kids that want to be his friends will announce that he's arrived. Ha ha! It's so fascinating, it just makes me laugh! There is just a certain confidence that cool kids carry around. Both girls and boys have that confidence, but it shines through a lot more boldly in boys.
Girls earn their coolness by being able to talk. They earn it by being able to juggle several little cliches of girlfriends and by staying in charge of all of them. If you're in a threesome of girls and you're not the one in charge, you better be ready at all times for the possibility of having to find new friends. Threesomes always make me nervous cause you know two of the girls are going to turn on the third eventually. If you're the "coolest" one though...you shouldn't have a problem.
I honestly think there is a distinct difference between "cool" and "know-it-all" kids. They can kind of mix...but usually know-it-alls are much more annoying.
In the end, cool kids end up getting in the most drama. Either that or they cut off the drama and leave others feeling bad. Cool kids never really change. They are always going to be cool purely from that confidence that they gain when they are little. For the reason they are usually the popular kids in high school which in turn can give them more and more confidence and make them very successful later in life!

In conclusion..........

I find watching people really interesting! I like making parallels between personalities and try to figure out what makes us all different. We are all chemically engineered to be different and that's not a bad thing. I'm not saying any of the personalities I described are better than each other, they all contribute to the little societies we involve ourselves in and most of the time it works out.

Everyone has something fundamental about their personality and I kind of feel like I hit a little bit on fundamental differences with those descriptions...

However...

I was totally and completely a shy kid when I was in elementary school. Completely! I never really talked and all my teachers thought I was sweet and what not. I only really ever had just a couple of close friends and I liked it that way up through my formative years. I would blush if people ever even said my name...that's how shy I was.

So it's interesting now...I'm 20 years old and I look back at it...I'm not shy at all anymore. I mean, I CAN be shy, and in fact I am shy sometimes...but anybody that truly knows me knows I'm not a shy person. Quite the opposite. It's funny though, watching myself get in situations where my shy-ness comes out and I realize that the idea that we are all inherently a certain way...we all have something fundamental about our personalities...really does ring true.

I think people get so stuck on themselves sometimes and say that they want to be what they really aren't that they get upset and waste time being upset rather than just embracing who they really are. I'm sure most shy people would rather be cool people and probably have ALWAYS wanted that. Same with know-it-all people, although they probably already think they are cool. Ha ha :)

Well, that's my psychoanalysis of children grades 1st - 3rd. Ha ha! I sincerely love my job and I'm so blessed to have it at this stage of my life. Love love love. :D

Keys

Life.

So crazy sometimes.

My computer won't let me log on to Facebook and that is causing me minor distress because I don't know what the latest on the Disneyland trip is!

Ha ha ha :) My crew and I are supposed to be going to Disneyland over fall break and we were having difficulties with the whole car situation, so I need to see what the latest is!

Anyways, that's not the reason I'm blogging. My lack of Facebook does not prob me to blog. Nope...no it doesn't.

I've actually been needing to blog for eons and/or days, but I haven't gotten around to it!

It seems like every couple of days I find out new people read my blog and trust me...I'm flattered...but why? Ha ha ha...all I ever talk about is the temple!

And this post will be no different.

Ahem....

Last weekend my sister, Jeff, and I went down to see my dad and what what. (for some reason "what what" is my new phrase) My dad wanted to go hiking and my aunt had been wanting me and Chels to take our cousin Jacy to the temple, soooo we did!

The hiking and all that jazz was fun! However, the temple is always...better...sorry to my dad if he ever reads this...ha ha ha!

Jacy had never been before which made it fun! She's 12 so she could barely just start going anyways. I legitimately can not remember the first time I went to the temple. I know I must have been 12 and I must have gone with my young womens group. I must have been nervous and I must have had no idea what to do...but I honestly can't remember any of that.

In the end, I kind of like going to the temple with the mind set that it's always my first time because it makes the temple workers feel better, I think. Ha ha! They just always seem happier if they know they can help you.

Anyways, I tried telling Jacy everything she'd need to know and I told her the nice temple worker would tell her where to go...but it ended up that the lady didn't help her at all after she got out of the font! Ha ha...I felt really bad.

We went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple cause that's down by my dad's house and where Jacy lives. I LOVE that temple! I've been going to it fairly often cause my dad lives literally a block away from it and it's becoming very near and dear to my heart.

Some of the artwork they have in the baptistery just makes me so happy! I love paintings of Christ's life. Especially the ones in that baptistery for some reason.

While we were there doing baptisms one of the temple workers talked to us about how the baptismal font is in the shape of a key hole. I had never noticed that...but it's so true! When you look at it, it's exactly shaped like a key hole.

There is so much symbolism in the temple, I love it. I loved that because baptism really does open the door to all of the other blessings of the Gospel. It's the very first step we take on our journey towards discipleship (as President Webb would say) and it's just....so important!

I know I say that all the time when I talk about the temple...the word "important", but truly, it is the only word to describe it.

I'm so glad that temple worker shared that with us! I seriously learn new eternal truths every time I go to the temple. I think that's why I love going to the temple because the more I go, the more I realize how much I have to learn.

I'm not really humble...but the temple seems to try to force humility out of me which I know is totally my Heavenly Father trying to make me a better person.

Important. Baptism is so important.

I'm so grateful for the sisters I've been able to do the work in the temple for. I know that people always say that THEY are grateful for us and will be someday when we meet them, but for me it's the other way around. I like to think about them and what their lives were like.

I'd hope that they had as good as a life as I have. I know a lot of them probably didn't though so hopefully they accept the work we do and now their eternities can be happier!

I get to go to the temple with my Mikayla friend this weekend which makes me joyous! :) I've been doing pretty good with twice a week, but that may or may not change. Life is busy.....eeeeeek!

My friends and I are going to the Vernal Temple in like...2 weeks which should be pretty fun! After that one I just have Provo to go to.

Planning things kind of stresses me out. Ha ha! We had the Vernal trip planned and then yesterday more people were added on and now the car situation needs to be fixed and what what. :) I guess it's not that big of a deal, I just hope it works out.

Too often things like this happen where I make an appointment and try to get it all put together and then it gets complicated. So we'll hope it follows through.

I know this sounds........weiiiird, but I just hope that the trip is still spiritual. Ha ha, I mean, I'm sure it will be...but the whole reason I want to take temple trips is for the spiritual factor. I don't really want it to turn into a big crazy trip.......I'm really good with expressing words today.......yeah....big crazy trip. Ha ha ha ha!

Eloquence. I possess much eloquence.

Anyways, I'm sure when that happens I'll write about it! :)

Healing

Sometimes I fail at things. Like blogging. I told myself I would blog more than three times in August because I only blogged three times in July and guess what???

I only blogged three times in August.

How distressing.

Today has been a really hard day.

It's been a huge emotional roller coaster of MOSTLY bad emotions, but Heavenly Father has tried to push some good ones in there too.

Two little kids that I teach art to at the elementary school were strangled and killed by their mother last night. Long story short the parents have been fighting for a long long time and it all lead up to this.

It sounds dramatic to say I'm completely devastated, but in all honesty....that's an understatement.

Jean was in 2nd grade and James was in 3rd so this was my second year teaching both of them. It literally has been breaking my heart all day. I have no idea how anyone could do that to their children.

When my mom told me this morning I bawled my eyes out for awhile and by that time everyone at my house was gone either because of school or work and I honestly couldn't just sit at home for 5 hours alone so I went to the temple.

I didn't have to work till noon and there was no way I was going to go back to sleep...so it was off to the temple I went.

There is so much healing power in the temple. I wish other people understood that. I can't even count the number of times something has gone wrong and I've immediately gone to the temple. Does that make me an overly righteous look at me I go to the temple all the time kind of person?

I don't think it does.

I think it makes me a semi-pathetic girl that depends a lot a lot a lot on her Father in Heaven to get her through things. And He does. He sincerely does.

I just think about Jean and James and how awful it is what happened to them, but how awful would it have been for them to have grown up in that family and suffered from all the abuse that was going on? I know our Heavenly Father actually saved them from all of that.

They were such cute kids though and I knew them well from art, so that makes it a lot harder to cope with.

I have this EFY CD that I've been listening to recently and it has "I Believe in Christ" as one of the tracks. I've listened to that song probably 20 times today just because it's been helping me so much. The spirit comes so strongly through music, it's amazing.

I believe in Christ, he stands supreme! From him I’ll gain my fondest dream...and while I strive through grief and pain, His voice is heard Ye shall obtain. I believe in Christ...so come what may, with him I’ll stand in that great day! When on this earth he comes again to rule among the sons of men.

I'll try to find more time to blog. And I'll try to make it happier!

I know that my Redeemer lives and I love Him for the grace that He offers me and the comfort He's always willing to give me. Life is so much easier when you let God in.

Simplicity

Life is too crazy sometimes.

Correction: Life is crazy all the times!

Ha ha ha.

Trying to balance everything I have to do is nuts most days. Between making lesson plans for my job, actually teaching, going to class, doing homework, going to institute, seeing my friends, being with my family, spending time with this guuuuy that I probably like (ha ha), going to the gym, going to the temple, eating, breathing....! I have no time to think! :)

I love days when I can think though and I can really put things in perspective and back to the basics.

Today we had ward choir and my friend Ben who is in charge of it had us sing "I'm trying to be like Jesus". That song...without a doubt...always makes me cry. I ADORE that song! Because it's so simple. It's so profound and just speaks what is in my heart, I guess.

So many times we try to flower up our testimonies with big words and make ourselves sound so eloquent and knowledgeable, but I've started to notice that really none of that matters. Or at least it shouldn't matter.

The lyrics to primary songs are so simple and say exactly what needs to be said in it's most basic form. I think I forget how awesome simplicity is sometimes.

I'm trying to be like Jesus, I'm following in His ways....I'm trying to love as He did in all that I do and say. At times I am tempted to make a wrong choice, but I try to listen as the still small voice whispers....love one another as Jesus loves you! Try to show kindness in all that you do. Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought, for these are the things Jesus taught.

So true.

Not much more I can say about that. :) <3

I've been thinking a lot about the future lately and how uncertain it is. You know how sometimes you'll hear a talk during Conference or at your own sacrament meeting and the whole time you tell yourself that it was written just for you? Well, that happened to me today!

Brother and Sister Garner who teach our institute class spoke today and Sister Garner's talk answered so many questions and thoughts I've been having about the uncertain future lately.

She spoke a lot about how we ask questions all the time. Our lives are full of questions and if we aren't careful we will fill our minds with negative questions that only tear down our spirits. There is nothing more demoralizing than negative questions.

Sometimes it's easy to have doubt when thinking about the future, because of all the uncertainty, but like I've learned from President Uchtdorf, fear and faith can not coincide in the same mind at the same time. It's just not possible!

I'm grateful for righteous people that give such great advice all the time. President Uchtdorf seems like he's consistently giving advice that's specifically for me. Every time he speaks in Conference I find something or many things that speak right to me.

Only 5 more weeks till Conference!

Well, I better go read some different things....aka The Ensign. I have a busy week this week! Ahhh...this semester is going to be very busy! I hope I'll be able to blog. We shall see...... :)

SOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!

The last time I blogged was the 1st of August? Seriously??

I think I have the answer to why I haven't blogged recently.

His name is Jeff.

Yes, that's right future posterity (and my creepy faithful readers), I am actually dating someone. Ha ha ha ha....shocking, huh?

I guess we officially started dating on August 2nd, so it makes sense that my last post would be August 1st, eh? Ha ha ha ha, that's actually really funny!

I've blogged about him before...but I never said his name because that would have been weird back then. I've liked him since like...April...so if you go back to older posts and I talk about a guy, it's him. :)

Anyways, we started dating at the beginning of this month and *the rest of this paragraph might be really corny* it's just been so good! I don't know how to describe it. It's not like any other situation I've ever had with a guy before. It seems a lot more real (which scares me) and genuine and stable.

Those are all really good things, but it's kind of made me realize that since I'm not used to those things it does in fact scare me and I don't really know what to think.

I'm pretty sure Heavenly Father has been trying to pound it into my head that I just need to smile and go with the flow and not mess this up, but well....I'm a girl! Girls tend to mess things up by over thinking things and freaking out over unnecessary things. I'm not saying I've done that.........yet, but it's possible, yo supongo.

Anyways, I like Jeff a lot. :) And guess what?? He loves the temple too! *warm fuzzies* It's the best! Ha ha ha!

More updates on that later as things happen, I guess. I just had to let you know that....that was happening. I would go into more details about our first date (which was mini golfing) or our first kiss (which was movie epicness, check that goal off the list!) or our DTR (which was actually really funny, ha ha), but....that's just all the boring stuff that gets WAY too corny to talk about and I would just feel awkward typing it...

The reason why this post is called "so much!" is because I feel like there has been so much change and what not lately.

So many things are happening!!

The whole Jeff thing, which has been great, but truth be told has actually made me cry a couple of times because it's so....overwhelming! (girls are so weird, huh?) He hasn't done anything wrong and it's been so good that it's literally made me cry on occasion. Usually this far (since it's been SOOOO long since we started dating) into the relationship a guy would have made me cry on several occasions for stupid reasons...but...not this guy.

So there is that.

Then school starts tomorrow.........................*many many dots*

*sigh*

It'll be okie.

I'm really excited to go back to elementary school and teach again, but the whole actually taking classes for my level of intelligence (which is clearly superior to most)...THAT I'm not too excited about.

I had to leave my mow crew on Friday. *tear*

I don't know how to adequately demonstrate how I feel about my crew so I'll just do it in list form...

My thoughts on the mow crew:
-No matter how many times you listen to Taio Cruz, it never gets old. (Break Your Heart or DYNAMITE)
-It's completely reasonable to strip if a spider is in your shirt.
-Singing at the top of your lungs over loud equipment will definitely make construction workers stare at you.
-Basically doing anything for our job will make construction workers stare at you.
-There is actually a trailer button you're supposed to push when your truck is pulling a trailer!
-Eating stuff off the asphalt isn't too weird...
-Billiam Ford is my eternal BFF.
-Maddie and I obtained a lot of balls.
-Every person has fundamental differences in personality and the way they live their life and most of the time you just gotta swing with it!
-I love edging Northridge.
-My right arm got a lot more buff than my left.
-Every laser has its pros and cons.
-Usually when we go do extra work on a school they are just going to tear it up the next week.
-No matter what color our shoes started out being, by the end of the summer they were all the same grossness. (Grossness is officially the name of a color)
-Everyone thinks their university is the best. Unless you go to Weber. Ha ha!
-It IS possible to fit 10 girls in a truck.
-Although Maddie never wanted to listen to California Gurls and changed it every time it came on the radio since June........we still knew all the words.
-It is possible to have spiritual experiences while weedeating.
-I sing randomly WAY more than I ever thought I did. The girls made sure to point that out to me quite frequently!
-Everyone has a catch phrase that they say all the time, even if they don't realize it. "What a hoe!"
-I will forever hate Holt. I don't care what you say!
-Paul kind of made me like mullets. (don't tell Stefanie)
-Mikayla is a chronic food sharer.
-Some people just don't like Josh Groban and I find them clinically insane. :)
-I love weedeating blacktops. It hurts. But I love it!
-I can't get married till Nicole does!
-August 13th will forever be some kind of anniversary for me.
-The fact that I can fix sprinklers won't ever really get me anywhere in life, but it still makes me feel cool.
-Amy is quite literally the nicest person on the planet earth.
-It much easier getting the laser stuck in stupid no brainer places than actual difficult areas.
-The girls I worked with aren't very recognizable when I see them in real life. They are SO beautiful with makeup!
-Tara knows everybody. Seriously, ask her!
-Aly's legs shine slightly unnaturally, but it's cool.
-There is usually a reason if I wear my hair down at work...
-We are all talented in unusual ways, but that makes us work together all the better!

I seriously love the girls I was able to work with this summer. I got to work with most of them last summer too and they truly have become my best friends. They know far too much about me, but for some reason I don't seem to care! I just love them all to pieces and I always will. I'm grateful for all of the things they have taught me and all of the joy they have brought into my life!

Liahona!

Weird.

I tried posting that last post like 5 times yesterday and it didn't work till just now. Ha ha ha! Hmmm...odd.

Oh Blog.....

So many things I wish I could tell you, but too many eyes read this, so I can't. Ha ha!

Maybe, I can. Whatever. I'll just start typing and pretend no one is reading this. (yeah, right)

So in the last post I said I was going to read Psalms 21, right? Well, I did! It was about a king and how he deserved wonderful things.

I kind of correlated that to me being a king and I deserve wonderful things. Gotta love likening the scriptures to yourself, huh?

Ha ha :)

I think Heavenly Father has been trying to tell me one thing and Satan has been telling me a completely different thing lately. And by lately I mean like...the past week!

Today in Relief Society we talked about patriarchal blessings (President Monson calls patriarchal blessings our liahonas....thus...the title of this post)! I felt the spirit really strong in that meeting and I already love my blessing a lot so I read it a couple of times tonight. I was afraid to read this one line in it because it has to do with what God and Satan have been telling me different things....but when I read that line I literally burst into tears because the spirit struck me so hard!

It's not like I've been doubting the whisperings from the spirit lately, but sometimes Satan can shout louder than the Holy Ghost, you know what I mean? I'm just grateful that I can tell the difference. :)

Sigh. I truly do know that I have a Father in Heaven who knows me. I've been kinda frustrated the past couple of days, but I know that if I keep praying that will all go away.

Anyone who is reading this is like....WHAT IS SHE TALKING ABOUT?!!? Ha ha :) Ask me if you really want to know.

I have such a strong testimony that God really is just waiting for us to ask for what we need, because more times than not He's willing to give it to us. Sometimes He won't because we need to be tested, but He's so loving that He usually is just waiting for us to come to Him.

I think I forget that sometimes.

I remembered tonight though!

On a completely unrelated note....school starts in about three weeks. Eek! That means I need to get some art lessons ready.

I'm going to miss a lot of things about the summer........my job, my crew (gangsta), the sun! One thing that will be sad though is I won't be able to go to the temple as much. I've been going twice a week all summer and once school starts I'm not going to be able to. :( Applesauce!

The other day when Mikayla and I went to do baptisms we were sitting back by the font waiting our turn and she turned to me and was like..."You know what's cool? We've set ourselves in this pattern of coming to the temple so often that I bet we'll be like this the rest of our lives."

It was really simple of her to say, yet so true and so....profound. Ha ha!

I am so enormously grateful that the spirit prompted me to start going so much in high school. Those are fundamental years and I can honestly say that I owe it all to my Heavenly Father and to the Holy Ghost for kicking me some mornings and getting me to the temple, because like I've said about 20 times on my blog, there really is no going back now.

I'm so blunt when it comes to the temple...I'm sorry, ha ha, but honestly, I have zero intentions of marrying a guy unless he plans on taking me to the temple every week. Why would I? We wouldn't be happy if he didn't! I wouldn't be happy that he wouldn't want to go and he wouldn't be happy that I'm not happy.

I definitely am a firm believer that people have huge variations in their spirituality and some people don't really see it fit that they go every week. That doesn't mean they are bad people...some people just make other things their priority, and that's ok! I would at least hope that my grandchildren that read this someday would at least go to the temple once a month once they get old enough.

Think of how many temples there are going to be by the time I have grandchildren! CRAZY!

Anyways....I successfully rambled about the temple again when I only had the intention of talking about patriarchal blessings.......

I should probably go to bed................. :/
